You're absolutely right about the rules. Due to the jam's restriction (no text except title & author), I intentionally designed the game to let players discover the mechanics through experimentation. I'm glad you figured out the logic~

Good game could use a dictionary
On tongue:
# of Dots = # of crosses
Slash = 0 crosses
On holes:
# of Squares = # of lines exiting this hole that must be at same vertical or horizontal
# of Slash = # of lines exiting this hole must not be at same vertical or horizontal
